On the left is a clear Japanese soup made with discounted large clams (243 yen, half price).

In the middle is discounted squid tempura from the deli section (277 yen, half price). I served it on a bed of discounted mixed vegetables with sliced onion (69 yen, half price) and enjoyed it with ponzu citrus soy sauce.

On the right is grilled salted mackerel, using one of two discounted fillets (300 yen, 40% off). It was nice and fatty, making it especially delicious. I served it on a bed of five shiso leaves (78 yen).

Today’s ingredient cost was 967 yen.
