On the left is miso soup made with discounted white leek (118 yen) and one block from a three-pack of firm tofu (158 yen).

In the middle are deep-fried pork shumai, made by frying discounted meat shumai (149 yen, half price). They are served with myoga stems (99 yen) dressed with a sesame sauce.

On the right are bean sprouts (38 yen) dressed with a plum-flavoured seasoning sauce (138 yen). The subtle aroma and taste of Japanese plum make this a light and refreshing side dish.

Today’s ingredient cost was 700 yen.
